Gulf Pump to Yorkshire

We love receiving photographs from our valued clients and one very happy customer has kindly sent us pictures of his latest purchase. The second of our Gilbarco Salesmaker pumps in Gulf livery now fully set up in it’s new Yorkshire home, with matching wall sign and 8 other restored pumps for company! We loved working on this pump and are glad to see it will be enjoyed for many years to come. Delivered by us in person, a long but satisfying trip from our Devonshire base. As always with our pumps this is a genuine original 1960s piece, finished to a high standard and restored retaining it’s original internal components.

If you would like to purchase a restored pump or commission one to be restored to your exact specifications then please feel free to get in touch with Doug. via the ‘Contact’ page.

Crypton Tuner

The latest arrival at Vintage Automobilia HQ this week & a little different to our usual finds. An early and rare Crypton engine tuning machine. An incredible looking piece with knobs and gauges aplenty.

We first saw this in a south Devon garage last year whilst on a picking trip. We loved it then and are very glad to have been able to purchase this piece. Now undergoing sympathetic cosmetic restoration to bring it back to its former glory.

New Sign Arrivals

A selection of new signs that have arrived at base this week. As always, condition is key! Great examples of tin and enamel from different era’s. Available for sale in the ‘signs’ section.

Beckmeter M50 Restoration

Latest restoration nears completion. Late 1950s Beckmeter model M50 finished in its original Shell livery.

Pictured here with panels loosely fitted for the first time after paint. It is now undergoing final fit & finish in our workshop including new decals and will be ready to find it’s new home in the coming few days. An original Shell-Mex BP supplied pump.

Ultimate Wall Art – Now Sold!

Is this the ultimate automotive related wall art? We think it could be AND it’s for sale!

Vintage Automobilia are delighted to offer for sale this full size replica Ferrari 250 GTO nose on behalf of a valued client and VIP collector. 1 of just 2 pieces made and the only example finished in colour to a concours standard (the other one you may have seen as a patina prop at Goodwood revival) fitted with bare light units, grille & badge. An amazing opportunity to purchase a homage slice (literally!) of a motoring icon.

Now Sold! Enjoying a new life in Italy!

Buried Treasure!

Here at V.A. we love the hunt for those elusive items.

We were recently approached regards the purchase of this rare early oil cabinet top enamel sign, which was found a few weeks ago by a homeowner just 10 minutes away from our Devonshire base, buried in their back garden! With the house itself being over 60 years old, who knows how long this beauty had been hidden underground! The enamel finish has survived remarkably well with good colour and relatively minor damage overall.

Now cleaned up and available for sale, see ‘Signs’ page for further details.

Shell Jug Finds New Home

A superb and early 1920s black colour Shell oil pourer from our own collection has found itself a new home. Snapped up by a regular valued client and major UK collector who saw it on our Facebook page before it had a chance to hit the website sales pages. We’ll be hand delivering this one shortly along with some other items. Plenty of interest in this rare pourer, we look forward to hunting down another one for the next collector.

Beckmeter M60 Completed

Our latest restoration, a c.1970 Beckmeter M60 is now completed. Resplendant in its correct original Shell UK colour scheme with period decals, re-wired (PAT tested), new hose & new glass globe. Complete with its internals, professionally restored in house by us to our usual high standard and ready to find a new home. A great size pump. See ‘Pumps’ page for more details.

Paintwork Progressing

We’ve been making the most of this weeks weather and getting some more panels into colour. The first coats of Shell yellow and red have been applied to our Beckmeter M60 pump panels, seen here drying in the spring sunshine, these will be flatted off and more coats applied before a satisfactory finish is reached, but a good start for the first coat, straight from the gun! Another pump soon to be complete and ready for sale!
