Patina Shell Pump

Latest pump restoration completed and something a little different.

Our client came to us wanting a patina look pump, clean but as original looking as possible. We had this Gilbarco calcometer in stock which was perfect and as much attention and labour has gone into this as one of our fresh paint restorations. We have de-greased, cleaned, polished & waxed the paintwork, cleaned the faces and protected them, set the dials to show the right price for the year of the clients car, sourced an original glass brand panel set in with new seals, rewired it, sourced missing trim, cleaned excess paint from trim and seals..plus plenty of other little jobs we won’t bore you with! Topped off with an original Hailware glass globe.

We are very pleased with how this one has turned out, it’s certainly got a look to it that we just love!

Rare Globe Collection Arrives at V.A.

A superb collection of 8 NOS Unused globes recently acquired.

These late plastic ESSO pump globes really are the best we have ever seen, being recently found in the attic of a former garage owner, never used on pumps, one is even still in the original wrapping! An opportunity not to be missed.

We love finds like this and proof that amazing pieces of memorabilia are still out there waiting to be found.

New Paint Range Now Live

Our new vintage peltroleum brand paint range is now available!

We recently collaborated with leading heritage paint manufacturers Craftmaster Paints to bring you a range of period correct & matched colours for vintage petroleum related brands. With a dedicated page of products which can now be found on the menu bar at the top of the page.

We aim to keep adding to this list as quickly as we can comfortably match colours and are happy with the mixes. From Carless to Castrol, 1/4Ltr to 10Ltrs or more, we can help you out!

Superb quality coach enamel for that ultimate period correct look which can be brushed or sprayed by the DIY’er or professional alike.

Please contact us if you require any further information.

Covid-19

With the growing concerns surrounding Covid-19 we felt it time to issue a brief statement.

Firstly we would like to thank all our clients for their continued support. It is pretty much business as usual here being that we are based at home but with a few exceptions, we are for now postponing any future showroom visits and item collections but will continue to review this in line with government guidelines.

We have been managing to get orders posted as normal but please be aware that items may take a little longer to arrive particularly for international shipments due to various staff shortages and lockdowns. We are handling enquiries as normal via telephone and email.

Please note that following a change to the current lockdown status we will endeavour to process and arrange delivery for items as soon as possible but there may be delays in service, particularly for larger items. We are happy to reserve any items for collection/delivery once restrictions are lifted.

We will aim to keep the website updated as much as possible although we will be unable to collect some new stock due in but hopefully there will be new items along as soon as we can get out ‘picking’ again.

Thanks,

Doug & Tash.

We are delighted to announce a collaboration with one of the leading companies in the heritage paints industry. At present we are working together to produce a range of period correct colours for various oil and petroleum brands, ideal for DIY or professional restorers alike. These colours will be as close as possible to those originally used on many items of garage memorabilia, matched to original pieces including pumps, cans etc. produced in traditional coach enamel, aerosol and more. Exclusively supplied by Vintage Automobilia.

We will be launching the range in March at the NEC Restoration Show and will have some stock available at the show. Full details available in the coming weeks.

NEC Classic Motor Show 2019

The fantastic Classic Motor Show at the NEC has come and gone for another year and we are already looking forward to the next on. We would like to thank all our customers and friends who stopped by the stand to say Hello and who purchased items from us.

For anyone who didnt make it here are some pictures of our stand in Hall 4. We hope to see you there next year!

Original Wellsaline Super Lubricants – Super Sign!

A recent purchase and we just had to share it with you, this superb and completely original Wellsaline enamel has recently joined our personal collection. A very rare piece in this form, some double sided flange type signs also survive, in a much darker green base and with black writing to the top.

You may think this sign looks familiar, well in recent years hundreds of fakes have emerged, many sold at autojumbles, antiques fairs and that famous internet auction site.. very crude in finish and dark in colour, flat and convex metal. There is always a place for reproduction items but out and out fakes produced to dupe buyers is something we do not condone, we’re proud to offer only genuine original signage to our clients.

Dispensers Saved!

A pair of dispensers saved from disaster by their previous owner! Purchased by us from the small country garage they have been at from new, they had spent many years stored in a building due for demolition and were pulled from the site moments before the builders took over. Theyll make great additions to any collection once restored.
